Their home resembles the ruins left after a bombing, and the characters themselves appear as the last survivors of a worldwide catastrophe. The appearance of their house symbolizes the destruction of age-old foundations and family traditions. Despite the fact that some of the characters make timid attempts at reconciliation and family reunification, singing songs around the campfire in unison, it is clear to the audience that the rift is inevitable and unavoidable.
